    SLOVAKS TO FILE LAWSUIT TO CANCEL ENEL'S DAM DEAL 
    Slovakia will file a lawsuit on Friday to cancel a contract 
under which the dominant power producer Slovenske Elektrarne, 
owned by Italy's Enel , rents the country's largest 
hydro power plant, officials said.

    C.BANK FOREX RESERVES FALL TO $13.96 BLN 
    The Slovak central bank's (NBS) foreign currency reserves 
fell to $13.957 billion as of March 7, from $14.081 billion one

    Germany's Volkswagen <VOWG.DE. Slovak unit sees its annual 
production output volume from 230,000 up to 260,000 units, the

Tostmann as saying.

    TRANSPETROL CASE 
    Slovakia's option to veto a deal on the sale of the 49 
percent stake in country's oil pipeline operator Transpetrol, 
currently owned by the stricken Russian oil firm YUKOS, will 
terminate by the end of March.

    ALTERNATIVE GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS 
    Two Slovak companies have asked the economy ministry for  
permission to build their own gas distribution networks, based 
on the new law on energy regulation. The gas monopoly SPP has 
warned of higher gas prices for households if the country's 
biggest gas consumers follow.

    Slovakia's centre-right opposition parties called on 
cooperation with junior coalition parties HZDS and the Slovak 
National Party on the new labour code, based on joint objections
