The Finance Ministry is proposing to sell the stake in order to secure funding for road construction. A 7 percent stake would raise about 36 billion crowns ($1.73 billion).

Government spokesman Martin Schmarcz told reporters some ministers had objected saying the topic was being discussed too hastily.

CEZ shares were 0.88 percent higher at 882.5 crowns at 1310 GMT, in line with the wider market.
