PRAGUE, March 21 (Reuters) - The Czech leftist opposition
narrowed the gap with the governing coalition, an opinion poll
showed on Wednesday.
...
... The Civic Democrats formed a government with the centrist
Christian Democrats and the Green Party in January, more than
seven months after elections last June. The coalition holds 100
seats in the 200 seat lower house.
The poll by the state agency CVVM was conducted between
March 5 and March 12 among 1,046 Czechs.
It gave the Civic Democrats 34.5 percent of the vote, flat
with a month ago, while the Social Democrats polled 29.0
percent, up from 26.0 percent.
The poll results, excluding undecided and non-voting
respondents, showed the coalition would now win 52.5 percent of
the vote versus a total of 44.0 percent for the opposition
Social Democrats and the Communists.
