PRAGUE, April 25 (Reuters) - Temelin, the Czech Republic's biggest power station, has disconnected its 1,000 megawatt Unit 1 from the power...

...grid after a pump glitch, the plant's owner CEZ said on Wednesday.

It said in a statement the reactor shut down automatically due to damp on the engine of the pump in the non-nuclear part of the station. It said it planned to repair the pump later on Wednesday and re-connect the reactor to the grid in the evening.

CEZ operates two 1,000-megawatt reactors at Temelin, which is located near the Austrian border in south of the country. The Unit was running at full capacity on Wednesday morning.

Temelin is the biggest asset of state-owned CEZ. It accounts for 16 percent of CEZ's installed domestic capacity.
