TRANSPETROL STAKE

Russia'a Gazprom may buy the 49 percent stake of Slovakia's oil pipeline operator Transpetrol, currently held by the stricken oil firm YUKOS, YUKOS ex-Vice Chairman, Alexander Temerko, told Russian media.

SMER PES MEMBERSHIP

The Party of European Socialists (PES) will not renew membership of the Smer party of Prime Minister Robert Fico at least until October. PES excluded Smer from its ranks last year after it teamed up with the far-right Slovak National Party in the government.

AIRPORT JOINT VENTURE

Prime Minister Robert Fico sees a possibility for a joint-venture between Slovakia's largest airport Bratislava and Flughafen Wien. Fico's cabined cancelled last year the planned sale of the Bratislava airport to Flugahfen Wien.
