Slovakia's largest natural gas company, Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP), should post net profits slightly below the 24.0 billion...

...crowns ($950.1 million) earned in 2006, a senior company official said on Tuesday.

"We have some estimates for this year, and the result will be in line with 2006, or rather a little bit below it because of some extraordinary revenues in 2006," Philippe Boucly, an SPP board member and incoming chairman, told a news conference.

SPP is majority state-owned, but managed by a consortium of Gaz de France and Germany's E.ON Ruhrgas through a 49 percent stake.

Earlier in the day the firm announced it would pay out its entire 2006 profits in the form of dividends.
