DETROIT, July 6 (Reuters) - The Detroit Red Wings signed six times Vezina trophy-winning netminder Dominik Hasek to a one-year deal worth a...

...reported $2 million on Friday.

"Re-signing Dom was one of our top priorities this off-season," general manager Ken Holland told the Red Wings's Web site. "Based on his performance this past season, we think Dom gives our team a great chance to be successful in 2007-08."

Hasek, who helped the Red Wings win the 2002 Stanley Cup title, posted 38 wins, including eight shutouts, last season.

In 15 seasons he has become one of the NHL's top netminders, twice winning the Hart trophy as the league's most valuable player alongside six Vezina trophies as outstanding netminder.

The 42-year-old has also represented the Czech Republic at four Olympics, winning gold at the 1998 Nagano Games.

Hasek's 76 career shutouts rank second among active goaltenders and ninth on the all-time list.
