PRAGUE, July 11 (Reuters) - Temelin, the Czech Republic's biggest power station, is getting ready to connect its 1,000 megawatt Unit 2 to...

...the power grid later on Wednesday after about a two-month outage, the plant's owner CEZ said.

The announcement is as expected, as CEZ said already last week it planned to link the reactor to the grid in the middle of this week following the exchange of one quarter of its fuel.

CEZ operates two 1,000-megawatt reactors at Temelin, which is located near the Austrian border in the south of the country.

It was gradually raising the Unit 2 output to 50 percent of capacity from Wednesday morning. The Unit 1 was running at 97 percent of capacity.

Temelin is the biggest asset of state-owned CEZ. It accounts for 16 percent of CEZ's installed domestic capacity.
