    EU OKs 32 MLN EUROS AID FOR KIA SLOVAK CAR PLANT 
    The European Commission approved on Thursday 32 million 
euros ($44.2 million) of state aid for the expansion of a Kia 
Motors  car plant in Slovakia.

    RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE 
    Slovakia booked a record high temperature of 39.9 degrees 
Celsius on Thursday after a week-long heat wave, erasing the 
previous record of 39.8 degrees from July, 1950.

    The Slovak telecommunication regulator confirmed fines worth 
a total of 1.1 million crowns ($45,760) for mobile phone 
operator Telefonica O2 Slovakia . The firm was fined 1 
million in April for failing to publish its price list on time.

    SKYEUROPE NEW ROUTES 
    Slovak low-cost carrier SkyEurope  will open new 
routes from the country's eastern city of Kosice from October, 
expecting the move to increase the number of passengers by 
250,000 a year.
