CBANK TAKES ALL BIDS IN REPO TENDER
The Slovak central bank (NBS) accepted all bids in a regular
two-week repo tender on Tuesday. Some investors had feared the
bank might reject part of the bids as a measure to stem crown
firming, and the unit firmed slightly after the auction.

PM TO EXAMINE STOCK EXCHANGE DEAL
Prime Minister Robert Fico will examine a deal in which the
state privatisation agency is to raise its stake in the
Bratislava Stock Exchange. Analysts and the opposition said the
transaction was a waste of money as the state already controls
the stock exchange.

PENSION CHANGES
The Social Affairs Ministry will propose a draft law
changing the pension system in order to raise state revenues and
cut spending. The proposed changes will include an option to
leave the private pension scheme and return to the pay-as-you-go
system, and hikes in payroll taxes for highest earners.

BUDGET PREPARATION
The finance ministry has kicked off the formal process of
2008 state budget preparations. The finance ministry will now
negotiate with other ministries and state-run institutions their
financial allocations for next year.

AIRPORT TROUBLES
The Bratislava airport, Slovakia's largest, may fail to meet
its full year passengers target in 2008. The transportation
ministry had planned a 20 percent annual passengers increase
this year, while the number of travellers have so far only
matched last year's numbers.
