LJUBLJANA, July 31 (Reuters) - Slovenia's inflation rose to
4.0 percent year-on-year in July from 3.8 percent in June, the
statistics office...
...said on Tuesday. The 12-month average
inflation rate rose to 2.8 percent from 2.7 percent in June.

NOTES: Inflation was pushed higher mainly on account of
higher prices of package holidays, tobacco products, fruit and
some other food products, the statistics office said.
FORECASTS:
The government raised its 2007 annual inflation forcast to
3.2 percent year-on-year from 2.5 percent projected in April.
The central bank in March forecast 2007 average annual inflation
at 2.7 percent. Most analysts see inflation this year at about 3
percent.

IGOR MASTER, PROFESSOR AT LJUBLJANA'S UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMY:
"Year-on-year inflation rose a bit further this month but
the numbers are not dramatic. The government's inflation
forecast of 3.2 percent is still reachable."
