Board member Peter Sevcovic added at a news conference after the NBS left the two-week repo rate at 4.25 percent, that monetary policy should remain cautious and that the bank will watch inflation risks as the country heads toward is euro readiness assessment next spring.

Slovakia wants to adopt the single currency in 2009.
