July 31 (Reuters) - Serbia's Statistics Bureau released on
Tuesday the following foreign trade data for June and the first
half of 2007:
...
...
MERCHANDISE TRADE JUNE MAY JAN-JUNE JAN-JUNE 06
Exports (million USD) 763 740 3,969 2,785
Imports 1,447 1,444 8,146 5,916
Balance -684 -704 -4,177 -3,131
NOTE. Year-to-date, Serbia's imports have grown 37.7
percent, mainly due to higher purchases of fuel, copper and iron
ore, as well as growing consumer demand.
Exports have grown by a cumulative 42.5 percent so far this
year, on higher sales of fruit, vegetables, grain and ready-made
textile products. The signing of free trade agreements with
member countries of the Stability Pact of Southeast Europe has
also resulted in higher exports.
