Policymakers used the projection of a steep increase in inflation to more than 4 percent next year to back up last week's 25 basis point hike in the main rate to 3 percent in the second such move this year [ID:nL26800751].
"A majority of the board members agreed on the need for another interest rate increase if the current forecast was met," the minutes said.
As published immediately after the July 26 meeting, one of the seven CNB policymakers voted for a bolder, 50 basis point rate rise to 3.25 percent last week. The remaining six agreed on the quarter point increase.
