...Statistics Office will publish July headline and core 
inflation data, 0700 GMT. The market forecast prices rose 0.1 
percent on the month and 2.4 percent on an annual basis. Core 
inflation was seen at 0.1 percent and 2.6 percent, respectively. 
     
    TRADE DATA 
    The Statistics Office will release June foreign trade 
balance data, 0700 GMT. Analysts expect a deficit of 0.7 billion 
crowns ($28.90 million). 
     
    FX RESERVES 
    The central bank (NBS) will publish its weekly foreign 
currency reserves, 1200 GMT. 
     
    SLOVAK JUNE RETAIL SALES +7.5 PCT Y/Y 
    Slovak retail sales rose by a real 7.5 percent year-on-year 
in June, slowing from a 9.7 percent increase in May, the Slovak 
Statistics Office said on Thursday.

    SLOVAK JUNE REAL AVERAGE IND WAGE +2.3 PCT Y/Y 
    The real average industrial wage in Slovakia rose by 2.3 
percent year-on-year in June, compared with a 6.8 percent rise 
in May, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.

    SLOVAK CROWN RETREATS FROM 2-WK HIGHS VS EURO 
    The Slovak crown retreated on Thursday from two-week highs 
against the euro seen in the previous session, hit by revived 
investors' fears over problems in global credit markets, 
analysts said.

    New passenger and utility car sales in Slovakia rose by 5 
percent to 47,046 vehicles in January-July from a year ago, with

    MAIZE YIELDS TO FALL 
    Slovak maize crop yields will likely fall to 4-4.5 tonnes 
per hectare on average this year, from usual 6.5-7 tonnes in 
favourable years, due to dry and hot weather, the Union of Maize 
Producers said.

    TELEKOM PROFIT JUMPS 
    Dominant fixed-line operator Slovak Telekom, controlled by 
Deutsche Telekom , said its consolidated net profit 
jumped 41.9 percent to 2.55 billion crowns ($105.3 million) in 
January-June, mainly due to a strong performance of its mobile 
unit.
