Italy's Andrea Dovizioso cruised in second on a Honda, 7.7 seconds behind Lorenzo. The result vaulted the Italian rider to second spot in the overall standings ahead of Alex de Angelis of San Marino, who crashed out with three laps to go.
Mika Kallio of Finland finished third on a KTM after fending off a passing attempt by de Angelis which ended up seeing the Italian slide off into the gravel.
