Q2 GDP REVISED UP TO NEAR RECORD GROWTH
The Slovak economy roared ahead at a near record pace in the
second quarter, in line with market expectations, but analysts

The real average wage in Slovakia rose by
4.1 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2007, slightly
down from 4.2 percent growth in the first quarter, the Slovak
Statistics Office said on Tuesday.

CBANK DRAINS SKK 164.9 BLN IN REPO TENDER
The Slovak central bank (NBS) accepted all bids in a regular
two-week repo tender on Tuesday, draining 164.911 billion crowns

CONFIDENCE VOTE
Social Affairs Minister Viera Tomanova survived late on
Tuesday a no-confidence vote initiated by the three main
opposition parties, local agency SITA reported.
FICO FIGHTS WITH MEDIA AGAIN
Prime Minister Robert Fico called an extraordinary
government session on Tuesday to debate what he said were
unlawful media activities. Fico called on the Prosecutor General
to investigate whether media did not break the law by entering
private property of ministers.
