Czech consumer price growth of 2.8 percent annually in September undershot the central bank's (CNB's) forecast by about 0.1 of a...

...percentage point mainly due to lower core inflation without fuels, the CNB said on Monday.

It said in a statement that food prices -- including the impact of a tobacco tax hike -- as well as fuel prices were higher than the CNB's staff had projected in the quarterly inflation outlook made in July.

Earlier on Monday, September data showed a 0.3 percent month-on-month drop in consumer prices, which pushed annual inflation to a 13-month high and keept alive the possibility of another interest rate hike before the end of the year.
