    An expected revision of Slovak budget figures will have no 
major negative impact on the country's chances of meeting 
criteria for joining the euro zone in 2009, central bank

    Europe's top car maker Volkswagen  will decide next 
month whether its Slovak unit will produce the successful

Tostmann said on Tuesday.

    CBANK DRAINS SKK 157.7 BLN IN REPO TENDER 
    The Slovak central bank (NBS) accepted all bids in a regular 
two-week repo tender on Tuesday, draining 157.651 billion crowns 
($6.61 billion) from the market, NBS data showed.

    STATE BUDGET 
    Leaders of the three ruling coalition parties have agreed on 
allocation of funds within the 2008 state budget. The government 
had already set the ceiling for public finance deficit at 2.3 
percent of GDP. The government will debate the budget draft on 
Thursday. The three leaders have agreed that ruling deputies 
will not seek amendments to the draft during parliamentary 
debate.

    LOWER INTERNET PRICES 
    Internet services prices have dropped by 50 percent since 
May, mainly due to increased market competition and lower fees 
charged by the dominant fix-line telephone operator Slovak 
Telekom.

    The economy ministry has drafted a law designed to preserve 
34 percent stake in Slovakia's major airport Bratislava for the
