Czech oil group Unipetrol will reopen its Litvinov refinery a few days later than originally planned after a six-week shutdown due to an ...

...outage in helium supplies, a spokesman said on Tuesday.

Ales Soukup, spokesman for Unipetrol's Ceska Rafinerska refinery, declined to specify how long the shutdown could take.

He said the company should decide by the end of the week on how to substitute helium supplies from neighbouring petrochemical factory Unipetrol RPA.

Ceska Rafinerska had been expected to reopen production at the Litvinov refinery on Saturday after a shutdown aimed to modernise the unit and increase capacity of 100,000 barrels per day.

The spokesman said the refinery would be able to compensate for the outage by drawing on inventories and raising production at a smaller unit in Kralupy.

Unipetrol, a unit of Polish group PKN Orlen , controls 51 percent of Ceska Rafinerska, with minority stakes owned by Italian ENI and Royal Dutch Shell .
