...sharper increase in food prices, the NBS said on Tuesday. It said annual inflation could pick up further in October. Rising food prices lifted annual Slovak EU-norm inflation from record lows of 1.2 percent in both July and August to September's 1.7 percent , according to data published earlier on Tuesday. "The year-on-year inflation dynamics could accelerate slightly in October compared with September, mainly due to an expected acceleration of the price dynamics in services and foodstuffs, as well as an annual rise in prices of fuels," the central bank said in a statement. The NBS did not reveal its September inflation prediction, nor did it comment on possible implications for monetary policy settings.
