    Former Federal Reserve President Alan Greenspan speaks at a 
closed-door conference via a live satellite link at 1440 GMT. 
Czech central bank Vice-Governor Ludek Niedermayer speaks at

    BUDGET VOTE: The lower house of parliament is due to open a 
budget debate. A first reading vote on the 2008 state budget 
draft may take place sometime during the day. The coalition 
government has a wafer-thin majority thanks to two renegade 
leftist deputies who are expected to support its budget.

    CEZ MANAGER: Alan Svoboda, sales director at utility CEZ 
, resigned from the executive committee, which 
consists of roughly 20 of the firm's top managers. He kept his 
seat as sales director. Svoboda reacted to charges of insider 
trading. Svoboda, who rejects any wrongdoing, says he will ask 
for a preliminary hearing after which the court could halt the 
case or return it for further investigation.
