The Czech crown scaled a life-time peak against the euro on Thursday against the backdrop of general strength in central European currency...

...markets.

The crown rose as high as 27.350 per euro by 1403 GMT, breaching the previous high of 27.385 set on Sept. 17, according to Reuters data. The neighbouring Polish zloty hit its strongest level versus the euro since 2001.

The crown has rallied 5.1 percent since the start of July.

"Regional currencies are firming, the dollar fell to a record low (vs euro), it is a combination of factors," said Miroslav Tutter, senior currency dealer at CSOB Bank.
