    EUROSTAT UPS SLOVAK DEFICIT, EURO ENTRY ON TRACK 
    Slovakia was told by the European Union's statistics office 
on Monday to include more items in its public finances, but 
analysts said the changes were less than feared and should not 
impact euro entry in 2009.

    FINMIN: NO MAJOR IMPACT FROM BUDGET CHANGE 
    Slovak fiscal projections will not have to change 
significantly in 2007 because of budget method changes 
recommended by Eurostat, the European Union's statistical

    ENEL'S SLOVAK UNIT SE SIGNS 800 MLN EURO LOAN 
    Slovakia's dominant power producer Slovenske Elektrarne 
(SE), controlled by Italy's Enel , said on Monday it 
had signed an 800 million euro ($1.14 billion) loan to finance 
several investment projects.

    CROWN DOWN ON EMRG MKT MOOD, EUROSTAT HELPS 
    The Slovak crown slid against the euro on Monday as the mood 
on emerging markets turned sourer, but positive news about how 
the budget deficit is to be recalculated helped to limit the 
losses, dealers said.

    PRUDENT FISCAL POLICY 
    Deputy Finance Minister Frantisek Palko said the government 
would continue with prudent fiscal policy to keep Slovakia on 
track to meet the 2009 euro adoption target.

    Eurostat may still decide to include the state highway 
company into the public finances, which would boost fiscal 
deficit, finance ministry sources said. However, the finance

furniture retailer IKEA  group, is expected to invest
