Asked in an interview with the business weekly Ekonom whether the strong local currency and high oil prices could have a long-term negative impact on the Czech economy, he replied: "(It) does not appear to be the case so far."

CNB policymakers were meeting on interest rates on Thursday, amid widespread market expectations that they will leave the benchmark two-week repo rate at a five-year high of 3.25 percent after the crown's sharp rise to record highs earlier this week.
