The ministry was clarifying comments by Deputy Finance Mininster Ivan Fuksa, who said in a radio interview that the state may get as much as 20 billion crowns in dividends from this year's profit.
"It remains valid without any doubt that the dividend policy of CEZ is based on paying 40-50 percent of consolidated net profit," the ministry said.
The state holds a 66.4 percent stake in CEZ, and the company holds 7.1 percent of its own stock which does not yield dividends.
CEZ raised its full-year outlook for net profit including minority interest to 41.4 billion crowns on Thursday. (Reporting by Jan Lopatka)
