    Prime Minister Robert Fico will sack Agriculture Minister 
Miroslav Jurena. Fico is scheduled to submit the request for 
Jurena's dismissal to President Ivan Gasparovic at 10 a.m. (0900 
GMT). 
     
    OPPOSITION MEETING 
    Opposition leaders will meet to debate their future strategy 
regarding the government crisis. 
     
    PSA PEUGEOT CEO 
    PSA Peugeot Citroen  CEO Christian Streiff visits 
the firm's Slovak factory. 
     
    CBANK RESERVES 
    The central bank will publish its weekly foreign currency 
reserves. 
 
    SLOVAK PM TURNS UP HEAT ON COALITION PARTNER 
    Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told his farm minister on 
Thursday to quit or be sacked because of accusations of 
corruption in his department, a step that could break up the 
ruling coalition. 
    Fico told the minister, Miroslav Jurena of the centre-left 
Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS), to take political 
responsibility for disputed land transfers that have opened new 
rifts in the fractious three-party government.

    SLOVAK CROWN FALLS TO 1-MO LOW, GLOBAL MOOD WEIGHS 
    The Slovak crown extended losses against the euro in thin 
Thursday trade, sliding to a new one-month low as rising risk 
aversion kept emerging markets under pressure, dealers said.

    NEW FARM MINISTER CANDIDATES 
    The HZDS party is now looking for a candidate it would 
nominate as the farm minister if it remains in the ruling 
coalition. One of the possible candidates is European Parliament 
deputy Peter Baco, who had headed the farm ministry in the past.

    OPPOSITION DEMANDS 
    The opposition demands Prime Minister Robert Fico to dismiss 
the entire leadership of the land administration fund for the 
disputed land trasnfers. Opposition leader, Mikulas Dzurinda, 
said he would initiate a no-confidence vote against Fico if he 
refused to replace the land fund top officials.

    HZDS BREAKUP POSSIBLE 
    HZDS will probably try to stay in the government despite 
dismissal of its farm minister, analysts said. The current 
coalition crisis, however, may lead to a split of the party.
