    RATE MEETING 
    The central bank's policy-making board will hold its monthly 
monetary policy meeting. The market expects the central bank to 
leave the key two-week repo rate unchanged at 4.25 percent for 
the seventh month in a row. 
     
    REPO TENDER 
    The central bank will hold its regular weekly repo tender. 
     
    END-AUG FOREIGN DEBT 
    The central bank will publish end-August foreign debt data. 
     
    JAN-SEPT CURRENT ACCOUNT 
    The central bank will publish Jan-Sept current account data. 
     
    EUROPEAN NUCLEAR ENERGY FORUM 
    The European Nuclear Energy Forum continues, 0800 GMT. 
     
    REGULAR PARLIAMENT SESSION 
    The parliament will start a regular monthly session. The key 
item on the agenda is the 2008 state budget draft. 
     
    MPS POSTPONE VOTE ON SPEAKER UNTIL TUESDAY 
    Slovak lawmakers postponed until Tuesday a confidence vote 
on the speaker of parliament, a test of unity for a ruling 
coalition threatened by tensions between members.

    SLOVAKIA REJECTS ALL BIDS IN 19-YR BOND AUCTION 
    The Slovak Finance Ministry rejected all bids in an auction 
of 19-year, 4.5 percent state bonds on Monday, the Debt and 
Liquidity Management Agency said.

    HIGHER ENERGY PRICES 
    Gas, electricity and heating prices are expected to rise 
less then 5 percent next year, Hospodarske Noviny cited an 
unnamed source as saying.

    NEW AGRICULTURE MINISTER 
    Vladimir Meciar, the leader of a junior government party 
HZDS, is expected to propose Zdenka Kramplova to replace 
Agriculture Minister Miroslav Jurena. Kramplova is currently 
General Secretary of HZDS and a close ally of Meciar's.

    NUCLEAR ENERGY 
    Prime Minister Robert Fico has reiterated the government 
intends to pursue construction of nuclear energy capacities in 
Slovakia in the coming years.

    ELECTRONIC TOLL 
    Five out of eight bidders interested in building and 
operating an electronic highway toll system were expelled from 
the procedure due to formal errors. The National Highway Company 
declined to comment on the tender, which is expected to be worth 
20 billion crowns ($890.1 million).
