Czech FinMin sees smaller 2007 budget deficit

The Czech central state budget deficit will reach about 76 billion crowns ($4.26 billion) this year, below the planned 91.3 billion, Finance...

...Minister Miroslav Kalousek said on Tuesday.

"Unless something exceptional happens I predict the state budget will end up by about 15 billion (crowns) smaller," Kalousek told Reuters in the lobby of parliament.

The central state budget deficit is the main part of the overall public sector deficit, which the government has forecast at 3.4 percent of gross domestic product this year. (Reporting by Jan Lopatka)
