Slovak crown hits 1-week low on end-yr profit taking

    The crown fell as low as 33.350 per euro  on 
Thursday, rebounding slightly to 33.290 at the end of the 
session. It closed at 33.140 per euro on Wednesday. 
    "Banks took profits ahead of the end of the year," said 
Tatra Banka dealer Boris Somorovsky. "The crown should float 
within a range of 33.000-33.450 per euro next week, and 
liquidity will be probably thin." 
    Traders said sentiment on emerging markets would set the 
pace for Slovak unit due to lack of domestic impulses. 
    The market has fully priced-in a scenario of the central 
bank leaving interest rates flat at its Dec. 18 monthly monetary 
policy meeting, dealers said.
