The upcoming sales of the state's stakes in several Czech companies could fetch between 100 billion and 200 billion crowns ($11.08 billion),...

...a senior government official was quoted as saying.

First Deputy Finance Minister Ivan Fuksa told the news Web site Aktualne.cz in an interview published on Wednesday that the number was his personal estimate.

He included engineering contractor Skodaexport, the flagship airline Czech Airlines, the Prague airport operator Letiste Praha, brewery Budejovicky Budvar, Czech Railways, Czech Post, as well as a 7 percent stake in power utility CEZ in his estimate of the proceeds of the pending state asset sales.

"But there is no analysis on this. For instance, there is still an ongoing debate what part of the (Czech) Post it is possible or desirable to privatise. Very much will depend on these debates and also on the timing of sales," said Fuksa.

In an interview with Reuters last month, Fuksa said the airport company could be sold by the end of 2008, while the planned sale of Czech Airlines may possibly be delayed if the firm's performance improves.
