LONDON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Czech power utility CEZ <CEZPsp.PR> plans to sell a seven-year, 500 million euro ($636 million) bond on Friday, priced to yield about 45 basis points over mid-swaps, a banker familiar with the deal said on Thursday.

The bond will be used partly to refinance CEZ's existing debt, and to fund "general corporate purposes," Moody's Investors Service said in a recent report.

The bond sale comes soon after rival rating agency Standard & Poor's upgraded CEZ -- on Monday it raised CEZ's rating one notch to A-, citing its "recent strong financial performance and its strong financial profile."

S&P said its rating reflected CEZ's 74 percent share of the Czech electricity generation market, its control of more than a half of the country's supply and distribution markets, and its "competitive, low-cost generation".

Moody's rates CEZ at A2, the fifth-lowest level of investment grade, and one notch above S&P's rating.

Deutsche Bank and SG CIB are joint bookrunners. ((Reporting by Quentin Webb; editing by Paul Bolding; Reuters Messaging: quentin.webb.reuters.com@reuters.net; +44 207 542 9405)) ($1=.7865 Euro)
