BRATISLAVA, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Police banned 60 Germany fans from entering Slovakia ahead of Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier.
"Border cooperation with our German colleagues has been very good," local police said in a statement. "With their assistance, 60 persons were banned from entering Slovakia."
The two teams last met 13 months ago when hosts Slovakia won 2-0 in a match marred by pitched battles between German fans and police.
Slovak officials, looking to ward off any trouble at Wednesday's match, have bolstered stadium security in Bratislava with 600 policemen, special riot units and SWAT teams.
