PRAGUE, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Czech central bank Governor Zdenek Tuma said on Monday that the state of the EU member's public finances is the biggest problem the economy faces.

The overall public sector, or general government, deficit was forecast to shoot up to 4.2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2007, way above the 3.3 percent target envisaged by the country's euro adoption road map.

Tuma was speaking during a meeting with union leaders on wage demands.
