RIGHTIST BECOMES PM CANDIDATE AGAIN

President Vaclav Klaus said he would again nominate rightist Civic Democrat leader Mirek Topolanek as prime minister after his proposal for a "rainbow coalition" government failed.

The Civic Democrat leadership is due to meet on Tuesday to discuss Topolanek's nomination. Topolanek has yet to say whether he is going accept it.

CONSTRUCTION OUTPUT

Statistical Bureau (CSU) releases September construction output and grain harvest forecast at 9 a.m. (0800 GMT).

CROWNS AT RECORD HIGHS

The Czech and Slovak crowns firmed to record highs against the euro on Monday as expectations of a mild slowdown and an end to rate hikes in the United States reinforced a bullish mood on central European currency markets.

REUTERS POLL: KOMERCNI NET SEEN UP 10 PCT

Komercni Banka <BKOMsp.PR>, the third largest Czech bank by total assets, is forecast to report a 10.4 percent rise in nine-month net profits on robust lending volumes, a Reuters survey showed.
