    V4 PARLIAMENTARY CHAIRMEN MEETING 
    The chairmen of parliaments of Slovakia, Czech Republic, 
Hungary and Poland will meet in the eastern Slovak city of 
Kosice to debate the region's entry to the Schengen system. 
     
    CENBANK CHIEF: CAN'T RULE OUT MORE RATE RISES 
    Further increases to Slovak interest rates cannot be ruled 
out despite the strong currency helping to keep a lid on price 
pressures, central bank chief Ivan Sramko said on Friday.

    TWO SOLDIERS KILLED IN POLISH-LED ZONE IN IRAQ 
    One Polish and one Slovak soldier were killed by a roadside

    TRADE GAP JUMP HITS CROWN, INFLATION EASES 
    Slovakia's foreign trade deficit widened sharply in 
September, offsetting positive data that showed easing inflation 
and pushing the crown currency down from this week's record high 
against the euro.

    SEPT TRADE GAP JUMPS SHARPLY BEYOND FCASTS 
    Slovakia's foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 9.46 
billion crowns ($334.9 million) in September, compared with a 
revised gap of 2.35 billion crowns in August, the Statistics 
Office said on Friday.

    OCT CPI TOUCH ABOVE MKT FCASTS 
    Slovak consumer prices rose by 0.2 percent month-on-month in 
October, putting the annual inflation rate at 3.7 percent, the 
Statistics Office said on Friday.

    RAIL-FREIGHT FIRM PLANS $57 MLN INVESTMENT 
    Slovak rail-freight company ZSSK Cargo plans to invest 1.6 
billion crowns ($56.6 million) next year to boost capacity, the 
state-owned company said on Friday.

    C.BANK FOREX RESERVES RISE TO $13.15 BLN 
    The Slovak central bank's foreign currency reserves edged up 
to $13.148 billion in the week to Nov. 8, from $13.147 billion

    CROWN HITS 1-WK LOW VS EURO ON TRADE, REGION 
    The Slovak crown weakened to a nearly one-week low against 
the euro on Friday as September foreign trade gap soared beyond

    South Korean car maker Kia Motors Corp <000270.KS> will 
launch commercial production at its Slovak plant in November,
