    BRATISLAVA, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press

markets on Thursday. 
     
    SNS NEWS CONFERENCE 
    The far-right Slovak National Party, a junior ruling 
coalition member, will hold a news conference (0900 GMT). 
     
    OPPOSITION ON BUDGET 
    The strongest opposition party SDKU, led by former Prime 
Minister Mikulas Dzurinda, will hold a news conference on the 
2007 state budget draft (1000 GMT). 
     
    CBANKER SAYS SKK TO FOLLOW REGION TIL EURO 
    The Slovak crown will be influenced mainly by developments 
on neighbouring markets until there are clear signals that euro 
adoption will take place as planned in 2009, central bank 
Governor Ivan Sramko said on Wednesday.

    C.BANK SEEN LEAVING RATES ON HOLD IN NOV 
    The Slovak central bank will probably keep interest rates on 
hold in November and wait for detailed data of record strong 
economic growth before continuing in its monetary policy 
tightening, analysts said on Wednesday.

    SLOVAKIA HOPES TO LURE NEW FDI WORTH $43 MLN 
    Slovakia hopes to draw new foreign investments of up to 1.2 
billion crowns ($43.34 million) to an industrial park near the 
western town of Sered this year, officials said on Wednesday.

    CROWN OFF-HIGHS ON PROFIT-TAKING, REGION 
    The Slovak crown retreated on Wednesday as investors took 
profits after a steady rise over the past week but dealers said 
the drop would be limited and that the currency would be range 
bound in the weeks ahead.

    COALITION PARTNERS STICK TO BUDGET DEAL 
    Leaders of the three-party ruling coalition are sticking to 
the agreement on 2007 state finances as outlined in the 
government's state budget draft. However, the coalition leaders 
have agreed to keep the amount the companies can grant to 
non-government organisations at 2 percent of their taxes, after 
initial plans to reduce it.

    TELEFONICA CONFIRMS START PLANS 
    Spain's Telefonica has confirmed it will launch commercial 
service in Slovakia by the end of March 2007, the head of 
Telefonica O2 Slovakia, Juraj Sedivy, said.

    SLOVAKS LAG IN SCHENGEN PREPARATIONS 
    Slovakia lags behind in preparations for accession to the 
Schnengen System, the European Union's border-free zone, due to 
unsatisfactory security on the eastern border with Ukraine, 
Interior Minister Robert Kalinak said.
