BRUSSELS, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Czech Finance Minister Vlastimil Tlusty said on Tuesday he was hopeful of a settlement with Japan's Nomura Holdings <8604.T> in the case of failed Czech bank IPB.
"I'm doing my best to be successful ... we hope that on Thursday we will sign," Tlusty told reporters after a monthly meeting of European Union finance ministers.
The Czech Republic and Nomura have been seeking major damages from each other over the failure of IPB in 2000. IPB was co-owned by a special purpose vehicle affiliated with Nomura. ((Reporting by David Milliken, editing by Mike Peacock, Brussels newsroom +32 2 287 6841, fax +32 2 230 5573))
