GOVT TALKS COLLAPSE
Talks on forming a broad coalition government in the Czech Republic collapsed after Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek's rightist Civic Democratic Party ended negotiations with his leftist rivals.

BUDGET APPROVAL
Lawmakers approved the 2007 state budget as leftist and rightist parties voted together to approve the legislation that sees a 91.3 billion crown ($4.35 billion) shortfall.

CEZ TO STAY IN STATE HANDS
The main political parties have agreed to keep a majority stake in power company CEZ <CEZPsp.PR> for at least four years, party officials said.
DEBT AUCTION
The Finance Ministry raised the sale of 3.25 percent government bond due November 2009 <CZ1001754=> to 6.52 billion crowns ($310.8 million) in the first, competitive round of bidding on Wednesday.
It sold additional 508 million crowns worth of bonds in the second auction round.

CURRENT ACCOUNT
Theh current account posted its second-highest monthly deficit for the year in October on the back of chunky profit outflows, leading some analysts to raise the prospect of a weaker crown currency.

PEGAS IPO
Artificial fabrics maker Pegas Nonwovens will debut on the Prague Stock Exchange on Dec. 18. Books in the firm's initial public offering will close on Thursday and pricing of the issue should be announced on Friday.
