BRUSSELS, Oct 12 (Reuters) - The European Commission took Italy to Europe's highest court on Thursday and issued final warnings to three other European Union countries over violations of EU laws on tobacco advertising.
Italy's failure to respond to the EU executive's "reasoned opinion", sent in July, has resulted in the Commission referring the case to the European Court of Justice.
The Czech Republic, Spain and Hungary will also end up before the Luxembourg-based court should they fail to reply to "reasoned opinions" sent to them on Thursday.
