BRATISLAVA, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Slovak industrial output rose by a real 9.7 percent year-on-year in September, down from a revised 14.3 percent increase in August, Slovak Statistics Office said on Wednesday. KEY POINTS: INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT SEPT/06 AUG/06 SEPT/05 pct change yr/yr 9.7 14.3 5.4 - Analysts surveyed by Reuters had expected industrial output to have risen by 12.7 percent on an annual basis in September <SK/ECON04> <SK/ECON09>. - Manufacturing production, which has the strongest weighting in the index, surged 12.6 percent on the year in September, down from a 17.9 percent jump in the previous month. - Mining remained in negative territory, falling by 7.2 percent after an 11.7 percent drop in August. - Production and distribution of electricity, gas and water fell by 8.8 percent, compared with a 3.4 percent drop in August. - Within manufacturing output, car production rose by 26.2 percent from a year ago, after a 70.9 percent jump in August. - The automotive industry is the main pillar of Slovakia's economy and swings in its activity can significantly influence the country's overall economic performance. MARKET REACTION: - The Slovak crown showed no immediate reaction to the data. It was quoted at 36.115 per euro <EURSKK=> at 0705 GMT, in sight of its record of 36.070 hit on Tuesday. It closed at 36.130 on Tuesday.
