BRATISLAVA, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Slovakia's unemployment rate fell to a record low of 9.27 percent in October, data showed on Thursday, underscoring favourable trends in the fast growing central European economy.

The Slovak jobless rate was 9.75 percent in September.

The National Labour Office said 271,024 people were out of work but ready to start working in October, which is the base used for calculating the unemployment rate. It did not comment further on the October jobless data.

The Slovak unemployment rate has repeatedly hit record lows this year as foreign investment projects, mainly in the car industry, have accelerated job creation.

"The economy is registering growth in employment in industry, mainly in the automotive sector, but also in construction and services," said ING Bank Senior analyst Lucia Steklacova.

Slovakia's economic growth has shot up to a record 9.8 percent in the third quarter, data showed on Wednesday, bringing the new European Union member to the ranks of the world's fastest growing nations, such as China or the Baltic states.
