Ceska Rafinerska, the largest Czech crude oil refiner and a venture of oil group Unipetrol , shut down a unit at its Kralupy refinery on Tuesday...

... to allow for a turbine repair, Unipetrol said on Wednesday.

Unipetrol said in a statement the fluid catalytic cracker at Kralupy, one of Rafinerska's two refineries, will remain idle for two to three weeks.

Unipetrol, owned by Polish refiner PKN Orlen , said it will tap other sources or buy fuel elsewhere to make up for the lost output and could not yet specify the impact on profits.

Kralupy has capacity of 68,000 barrels per day. The other refinery in Litvinov has capacity of 110,000 barrels per day.

Rafinerska processed 7.1 million tonnes of crude last year. It is a joint venture between Unipetrol, ConocoPhillips , Italian oil company ENI and Royal Dutch Shell .

Unipetrol owns 51 percent in Rafinerska. Foreign partners each own 16.33 percent stakes.
