Growth in Czech manufacturing activity quickened to its fastest in four months, driven by increases in output, new orders and the strongest job creation on record, a survey showed on Tuesday. The Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 56.2 from 55.6 in November, accelerating further from a nine-month low of 54.6 in October, the ABN AMRO/NTC manufacturing survey showed. "Faster growth of new business led Czech manufacturers to continue expanding their workforces in December, extending the current period of employment growth in the sector to one and a half years," said NTC, which compiles the index from a survey of over 300 firms. The manufacturing industry accounts for more than one-third of national economic activity, with latest data indicating that its growth has gradually slowed to a trend rate of some 5 percent from its cycle peak of 6.7 percent in late 2005.
