TABLE-Czech Dec CPI up 0.2 pct m/m, +1.7 pct y/y

    The Czech Statistical Bureau (CSU) 
released on Tuesday the following consumer price data for 
December: 
     
CONSUMER INFLATION             DEC 06        NOV 06     DEC 05 
 pct change month/month          0.2         -0.1        -0.1 
 pct change year/year            1.7          1.5         2.2 
  
    NOTE: The statistics office added the average rate of 
inflation over the past 12 months was 2.5 percent. 
    Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted that month-on-month 
consumer prices were flat in December, which would have put the 
year-on-year inflation rate at 1.6 percent
