    The government will hold a regular weekly meeting. Ministers 
are expected to debate nomination for a member of the central 
bank's policy-making board after Karol Mrva's term ended in 
November 2006. 
     
    RATES SEEN FLAT IN JAN AFTER CROWN JUMP 
    The Slovak central bank (NBS) will probably leave its key 
interest rate unchanged in January because the strong crown has 
helped to tame inflation risks, analysts said on Tuesday.

    CBANK REJECTS REPO BIDS TO TAME CROWN 
    The Slovak central bank (NBS) rejected some of the bids made 
in a regular two-week repo tender on Tuesday, leaving banks with 
excess crown liquidity for the second week in a row as it tries 
to cap crown rise.

    REGULATOR FINES RAIL FREIGHT FIRM 
    The Anti-monopoly Office has levied a fine of 75 million 
crowns ($2.84 million) on rail freight company Cargo for abusing
