    STATE BOND AUCTION 
    The Debt and Liquidity Management Agency will auction 
12-year, 5.3 percent state bond on behalf of the Finance 
Ministry. 
     
    OPPOSITION LEADERS TO MEET 
    Leaders of the three main opposition parties will meet to 
debate current polical situation (0800 GMT). 
     
    SLOVAK CBANKER: NOT DISCUSSING ERM PARITY SHIFT 
    The Slovak central bank (NBS) is not currently considering a 
revaluation of the central parity rate of the crown against the 
euro in the ERM-2 exchange rate mechanism, Governor Ivan Sramko 
said on Friday.

    SLOVAKIA TO DECIDE ON NEW TRANSPORT PLANES SOON 
    Slovakia will soon decide on a new military transport 
aircraft to upgrade its ageing Soviet-era fleet hit by a fatal 
accident a year ago, Defence Minister Frantisek Kasicky said on 
Friday.

    PM AIMS TO BAN HEALTH INSURERS FROM PROFITS 
    Slovakia's ruling leftist coalition government plans to ban 
private health insurers from making profits, Prime Minister 
Robert Fico was quoted as saying by the SITA news agency on 
Friday.

    C.BANK FOREX RESERVES DROP TO $13.89 BLN 
    The Slovak central bank's (NBS) foreign currency reserves 
edged down to $13.899 billion as of Jan. 17, from $13.943 
billion one week earlier, the bank said on Friday.

    SLOVAK CROWN AT 1-WK HIGH, EMERGING MARKETS REBOUND 
    The Slovak crown firmed to a one-week high of 34.520 to the 
euro on Friday as emerging markets recovered from recent capital 
outflows, dealers said.

    MECIAR UNDERGOES HEART SURGERY 
    Vladimir Meciar, a former Prime Minister and one of the 
current three governing coalition leaders, has undergone a heart 
surgery on Sunday. Doctors will provide more information on his 
state after the by-pass operation on Monday.

    Telefonica O2 Slovakia will start commercial service as 
planned in February despite a challenge of the tender in which
