A spokeswoman for Unipetrol, majority owned by Poland's PKN Orlen, gave no details of the deal, adding there would be a news conference at 0830 GMT on Tuesday revealing more information on the purchase.

Unipetrol has said any potential investor must commit to continue long term commercial cooperation with it, mainly through supplies and purchases.

Unipetrol launched the sale at the start of last year. In July it entered exclusive talks with Dwory, which is also owned by PKN.
