INFLATION SEEN TICKING UP

Czech inflation jumped to 1.9 percent on an annual basis in January as regulated price hikes and food prices feed into consumer prices, a Reuters poll showed on Thursday. The data are due out on Feb. 14.

LEFTISTS AGAINST MISSILE SHIELD

The opposition Social Democrats turned against a plan to build part of the U.S. missile defence shield in the country on Friday, laying a stumbling block to the plan's approval in parliament. [RTRS-LEN-CZ-POL]

NO CONSENSUS ON REAL-ESTATE BUBBLE

Central bank Vice-Governor Miroslav Singer was quoted as saying in an interview with the daily Hospodarske Noviny that there was no consensus on the bank's policy board as to whether there was a bubble on the real estate market.
