PRAGUE, March 1 (Reuters) - Growth in Czech manufacturing activity accelerated in February to its highest level ever on the Purchasing Managers' Index survey, data released on Thursday showed. The index, compiled by ABN AMRO and NTC, edged up for the fourth consecutive month in February to 58.5 from 57.6 the previous month. The Czech PMI survey continues to point to a strengthening performance of the manufacturing sector in February. The overall improvement in business operating conditions was the sharpest indicated by the survey to date, the data report said. Manufacturing accounts for more than one third of Czech economic activity, with latest data indicating that its growth has gradually slowed to a trend rate of around 5 percent from its cycle peak of 6.7 percent in late 2005.
